For my Print Advert I have picked to write about Disclosure ‘Settle’ album. Disclosure is an English electronic music duo. I know from my research that the two boys in the photographs are the in fact Disclosure. The boys look very similar this is because they are brothers. The brothers haven’t had a long career as there only 21 and 19. However, this album ‘settle’ was nominated for best Dance/Electronica Album at the 2014 Grammy Awards. The photo has a good effective on the audience as it gives us an image of what the boys looked like when they was younger, big fans of disclosure would really like this. It also shows how far they have come in life and the things they have achieved, as when they was in this age they would never of thought they would be successful DJ’s.
As the photo takes up the whole page the album and artist name is fit up the top of the page. Disclosure and Settle are both in a sans serif font. They are is different colours so the audience know what is the album name, as some people they may not of heard of disclosure might think it’s all one word. I would say the font is in size 20, I think if it was any bigger it would have ruined the photo.
The lighting of this photo is good as it gives the audience a clear image of what the boys look like. However, there is a white pen marks on the boys facial features; this is a logo for Disclosure. When people see this white marks they know it’s a symbol for Disclosure, it’s become an iconic sign in the music industry.

How does the artist
fit the genre?
In the ‘Right there’ video there are two singers, Nicole Scherzinger being the main singer and 50 cent. I think Scherzinger fits the genre of pop because of her costumes; she changes multiple times in the video. Her costumes are very relieving which will engage a male target audience this age range is about 16 – 27. Her first outfit is a combination of different cream clothing; the top has splits in the side to show of her tanned and skinny figure. Her other target audience is girls aged 16-25 that will inspirer to look like her as she has an amazing body and look black hair. Her second outfit is another combination of different colours but has many different crop tops mixed together, and again showing off her belly. In my opinion this looks odd and I don’t like the look. She also has long brown leather boots on these come right up to her thighs; she then has blue shorts on. She has her hair in a slick side back ponytail, she ponytail has a rags plated into her hair which looks good with the rest of her clothing. Her third outfit is completely different as she’s covered herself up, it could be because she’s dancing with 50 cent and wanted both of them to dress the same. Her fourth outfit is Nicole in a bikini type costume; again this is relieving her boobs, belly and legs.

50 cents fits the hip hop genre very well as hip hop is
dominated by black culture. In the music video 50 cent wears a baseball cap and
has low angels shot which shows off that his important. In the music video
everyone is multicultural which relates back to my point about hip hop is
dominated by black people. Below I have took screen shots of 50 Cent, as you
can see his wearing ripped jeans,

He is also wearing a reflective puffer jacket, that jacket was in fashion back when the video was made. 50 cent has a target audience of boys between 16 – 25, they will look up to him and follow his fashion trends, so 50 cent needs to be very knowledgeable on what’s trendy at that moment of time. He wants his fans to appreciate what his wearing and enjoy watching the video.

‘Right here’ video is similar to Cheryl Cole music video. They’re both very similar because Cheryl is the main singer and Tinie Tempha raps in the background, like the ‘Right here’ video. Both videos have back up dancing with relates back to hip hop and pop music videos. Cheryl only has two costume changes, however when Cheryl does there just as relieving as Nicole’s outfits. Below you can see Cheryl has a crop top on, showing off her belly and boobs. Tinie Tempha is dressed similar to 50 cent they are both wearing glasses.
When looking at a music video there are three different types; performance, narrative and contupel. Nicole’s music video is performance
The ‘right here’ video is a performance narrative this means, the video is filled with dance routines, lip synching, and musicians playing instruments. There is continuity editing throughout the music video, the different scenes go into each other smoothly.

This is Lana Del Rey’s digipack called ‘Born to die’. This CD cover has 4 panes. The front cover is a picture of her looking straight at the camera, she doesn’t have any facial expression. This relates to her album name ‘Born to Die’ this is the reason why shes not smiling. On the left to Lana Del Rey she has a box telling the audience that this is her deluxe edition, this means a few extra songs with be added. Lana’s name is written in bold white writing with attracts the audience and engaging them to listen to the music. On the back of her CD is all the names of the tracks on the CD, this CD includes 13 songs with a three bonus tracks aswell. The background colour is bright red, having the writing in white really stands out and the audience shouldn’t have a problem with reading it. The small black print right at the bottom is information from the manufactures of the CD. The back cover also haS a barcode located on top of the small print.
Inside the CD is a another photograph of Lana, this time she is posing for the camera. You can tell from this picture she is very glamous as her hair is done very nice and her make up. Her posing really makes her lips look big and to emphasising her wearing red. Lana looks like she is in a garden as you can see trees and blue skys, she is in a hot sunny location, probably America. One of her songs is ‘Summertime Sadness’ so she probably spent her time in hot locations as you can dell from the picture. Lana is a very uniqe singer and doesn’t follow the crowd she is someone who set trends and then everyone follows her.
The non verbal communication in both photographs of Lana show seruious expression, this could mean how much hard work she has put into making this album and is relieved that is it all over and can relax now. The lighting is very effective in the photographs as it shows her best points. However, the title is ironic as it says ‘Born to Die’.
This is Adele digitpak, like Lana Del
Rey it has four panes. Adele front cover is a close up shot of her. The
photograph is in black and white, the non-verbal communication of this photo is
sad and depressed and she doesn’t look happy. Moreover, the way she got famous
was because of someone who broke her heart so she started singing. Her songs
are very meaningful. Even though the photo is in black and white you can tell
her make is done nicely as she is very glamorous. This connotes classic style
and elegance. The close up shots disguises Adele’s plus size body image, she
might be conscience of this and wants to hide her body as much as possible. The
back cover is another picture of Adele, she is looking directly into the camera
this time, her non-verbal communication is still the same as before, sad and
depressed.
The lighting is more on the left hand
side of her as the right seems very lowkey. The back cover has 11 tracks names
on, as the background colour is black the font is white which again makes it
easier to read. At the bottom of the page is a barcode that sits ontop of the
small print. The small print says about copyright and her websites
‘www.ADELETV’ and ‘www.XLRECORDINGS.COM’.
Inside the CD is two more pictures of Adele, these photos are action shots which makes have they been taken without her knowing, this create a much better effect. The photos show how hard she has worked for the album. The work paid off as ‘21’ globally was the biggest selling musical release for both 2011 and 2012. She called it ‘21’ because that was her age when she made it.
